Worcester Initiates Vacant Storefront Leasing Program

Worcester Commercial Leasing

A recent article from the Worcester Business Journal about commercial leasing programs and economic impact is mentioning that Worcester is one of “eight communities across Massachusetts to make a new incentive program targeting empty storefronts.” According to the article, Worcester will now be offering up to $10,000 in refundable state tax credits for certain locations in the downtown commercial area as part of the state’s inaugural empty storefront program. The Worcester Zone will include areas “along Main Street from the former Worcester County Courthouse to May and Hammond streets; along Pleasant Street from the intersection of Main Street to the intersection of Park Avenue; and along Chandler Street from Main Street to Park Avenue.” A total of 129 properties throughout Worcester, Fitchburg, Framingham, Marlborugh and four others will be included.
